Use of our AI (artificial intelligence)
Our Commitment to Easier Digital Access
We are making it simpler for you to access our services online, in line with the government’s vision for a modern, inclusive Digital NHS.
Why we are doing this
- To make healthcare more convenient and accessible.
- To reduce waiting times and free up phone lines.
- To ensure no one is left behind as services become more digital.
We are committed to bridging the digital divide and supporting all patients, whether online or offline. If you need help using the NHS App or other digital services, please speak to our team.
How are we doing this
We Use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Our Practice
To help us provide timely, safe, and efficient care, our practice uses carefully selected Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. These tools support — but never replace — the clinical judgement of our healthcare professionals.
Where we use AI
- Online consultations & triage: AI helps sort and prioritise online requests, so the right member of our team sees your query promptly.
- Document management: Incoming letters, test results and documents may be processed with AI to help staff route information to the appropriate clinician.
- Reception & administrative support: AI may help assist with taking calls regarding help with the triage form, sorting tasks, handling simple enquiries, or directing messages to the correct team.
- Dictation & clinical notetaking: Clinicians may use AI-powered dictation tools to transcribe consultations or produce clinical notes more accurately and efficiently.
Your safety and privacy
- All decisions about your care are made by qualified clinical staff.
- AI tools are used under strict governance and are regularly reviewed for safety and accuracy.
- Your information is handled in line with UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and NHS guidelines.
- We only share data with approved, secure systems, and solely for the purpose of providing your care.
Governance and oversight
Dr Hitesh Patel is our nominated clinical safety officer (CSO). The practice complies with the DCB0160 standard, and maintains up to date digital and clinical risk management.
